Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to create a third set.
He saved 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
